What is a SuSu?

The SuSu is a small but amazingly versatile sound effect whistle. It is made of two bamboo pieces in which a synthetic membrane is glued in.

Whistling

Simply put the SuSu between your lips and blow in from the side where you can see the membrane. You can also overblow to produce funny cackling sounds. But even more exciting is to put it inside your mouth on your tongue and lift it against your palate. This way you can whistle and trumpet without anyone seeing the instrument. There are even more ways to play: you can talk voicelessly, laugh, sing, whistle or warble.

Care

The SuSu should be dried after playing. Also, it shouldn't be soaked to wet while playing.
